Seeing all the photos of your kids on social media made me think back on the year I went to prom...

1982 was a great time in rock and roll, and I did everything I could to look like Edward Van Halen. I even got a soft perm which I was told would add body to my hair. Epic fail as people told me I looked more like Howard Stern than Eddie Van Halen. My prom date was a wonderful girl named Pam (her last name not shown to protect the innocent.) The night was wonderful as Screamin' Pops let me use his boat of a car, a 1982 Continental Mark VI . The car had a spacious back seat that was never used that night as I tried my best to be a gentleman. I did however make a life long friend of Pam. Jamming Pink Floyd's The Wall on cassette and White Wedding plus, some other tunes that got me a good night kiss on the cheek and a wonderful memory.

How was your high school prom date?
