PAHOA, HI - MAY 23: Lava erupts and flows from a Kilauea volcano fissure in Leilani Estates, on Hawaii's Big Island, on May 23, 2018 in Pahoa, Hawaii. Officials are concerned that 'laze', a dangerous product produced when hot lava hits cool ocean water, will affect residents. Laze, a word combination of lava and haze, contains hydrochloric acid steam along with volcanic glass particles. (Photo by Mario Tama/Getty Images)

In case you haven’t seen this:  A volcano erupted last week on the island of Stromboli, which is off the coast of Southern Italy . . . and somebody on a sailboat captured it on video.

You see a thin line of white smoke on the mountain and then a massive explosion of black volcanic ash starts shooting into the air.  Tragically, a hiker on the mountain was killed, and two people were injured.
