Prince and his long-awaited memoir, The Beautiful Ones, has finally received a release date three years after the book was first announced.

Confirmed by his estate, The Beautiful Ones will come out October 29. In a statement from Prince’s estate, “This official memoir will feature never-before-seen photos, original scrapbooks and lyric sheets written in Prince’s own hand, and the early pages of the memoir Prince began writing before his passing.”

Per The Associated Press, the memoir will be 288 pages and will chronicle Prince’s childhood, as well as the early days of his musical career. New Yorker writer Dan Piepenbring will pen the book’s introduction and was chosen by Prince to collaborate on this project. The book’s editor, Chris Jackson, detailed in a statement, “…[The Beautiful Ones is] a genuinely moving and energizing literary work, full of Prince’s ideas and vision, his voice and image. It’s a treasure not just for Prince fans but for anyone who wants to see one of our greatest creative artists and original minds at work on his greatest creation: himself.”

The Beautiful Ones is available for pre-order at PenguinRandomHouse.com.
