FLASHBACK: Lars Ulrich’s Rock Hall Acceptance Speech
CLEVELAND - APRIL 04: Lars Ulrich (R) of Metallica speaks as Kirk Hammett (L) and Jason Newsted listen onstage during the 24th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Public Hall on April 4, 2009 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Today (December 26) is Lars Ulrich’s birthday, and since we’re coming off the announcement of the 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction class, we thought we’d look back to 2009 when Metallica was inducted.
Lars’ speech was short, straight to the point and incredibly poignant, especially at the end when he thanked his father, Torben, for giving him a great, fulfilling childhood. We can’t help but tear up along with him.
