Vicky Cornell Files Malpractice Lawsuit Against Chris Cornell’s Doctor
Vicky Cornell, the widow of Chris Cornell, has filed a malpractice lawsuit against Dr. Robert Koblin claiming he prescribed massive amounts of sedative and narcotic medications without even seeing the late Cornell in his office.
This news comes via TMZ who obtained the lawsuit documents and reports Cornell was prescribed 940 doses of Lorazepam (Ativan), in addition to Oxycodone, in the 20 months leading up to his death without an examination. The lawsuit also alleges Dr. Koblin never advised Cornell of the various side effects of long-term Lorazepam use, which includes “impairing judgment and rational thinking” and diminishing “impulse control.”
The suit states Cornell was referred to Dr. Koblin in 2004 by his therapist because of his issues with substance abuse and that non-physician staff of Dr. Koblin wrote Cornell “hundreds” of Lorazepam prescriptions without recording any medical reason or providing any sort of follow-up.
