CARDIFF, WALES - JANUARY 22: Eric Clapton performs on stage at the "Tsunami Disaster Fundraising Concert" at the Millennium Stadium on January 22, 2005 in Cardiff, Wales. The concert aims to raise funds for those affected by the Asian earthquake and tsunami, and hopes to total GBP1 million for the Disasters And Emergencies Committee.

Eric Clapton‘s second Blackie guitar is going on the auction block.

The black (duh!) Fender Stratocaster was made for Clapton during 1990, and he played it extensively from 1990-93, including during his 24-night stand during 1990-91 at London’s Royal Albert Hall, on tour with George Harrison during 1991 in Japan and at Cream‘s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction during 1993.

The second Blackie was actually sold at the same 2004 auction where the original Blackie went for a whopping $959,500; The younger Blackie received a high bid of $200,000, and when the winning bidder couldn’t come up with the money Clapton personally called the runner-up to offer him the guitar. That buyer is now selling the guitar again via the San Francisco Art Exchange and displayed at the gallery with a minimum starting offer of $325,000.

The gallery is accepting inquiries and bids at 414-441-8840 or via Remember, there’s only 62 more shopping days ’til Christmas…
