Manson vs. Bieber & 4 Other Recent Rock Insults/Feuds
By now, you likely have heard about Marilyn Manson’s comments on Justin Bieber.
In case you haven’t, Manson recounted an incident to Consequence Of Sound about Bieber not getting permission to use Manson’s likeness on a t-shirt he sold as part of a line at Barneys department stores. Apparently, the Biebs then told the Antichrist Superstar, “I made you relevant again,” to which Manson said in the interview,
“He was a real piece of shit in the way he had the arrogance to say that. He was a real touchy-feely guy, too, like, ‘yo yo bro!’ and touches you when he’s talking. I’m like, you need to stand down, you’re dick height on me, ok? (laughs) Alright? So stand down, son.”
Perhaps it was his use of the turn-of-phrase “dick height,” but this got us thinking about some of our other favorite rock insults/feuds of recent memory. Here are four of our favorites!
(Spoiler: There’s nothing here from Noel and Liam Gallagher. Frankly, they deserve their own list, and we’ll save that for another day.)
Paul Stanley vs. Nikki Sixx (and Gene Simmons, kinda)
Sixx took offense to Gene Simmons’ comments on Prince’s death in 2016 and said in an interview that, “I think Gene should call it a day, and that we should look at this beautiful catalog of music that Prince has given us. And if you wanna compare Prince to KISS…there’s no comparison.”
Stanley would then condone Simmons’ remarks…
…but then also attacked Sixx.
