LISTEN: Rob Halford’s Isolated Vocals On “Painkiller”
Yes…we know we covered isolated vocal tracks in honor of Robert Plant‘s birthday this past Sunday (August 20), but “The Metal God” is definitely worthy of such a tribute.
Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, who turns 65 today (August 25), has more than earned the aforementioned moniker with his stunning, soaring vocals. Halford’s voice is so incredible that is can cut through the powerful dueling guitars of K.K. Downing (now Richie Faulkner) and Glenn Tipton, but have you heard his vocals on their own?
Take a listen to the video below which isolates Halford’s vocal track on 1990’s “Painkiller” is all their brilliance.
Once again, he’s not called “The Metal God” for nothing!
