Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell is one of the judges for this year’s International Songwriting Competition, which awards excellence in composing.
Farrell is joined by Lorde, Tommy Chong and Tom Waits, as well as industry executives in reviewing entries from more than 130 countries in 23 genre categories. The grand prize is $25,000 in cash and prizes, while another $125,000-plus is split between 70 category winners. The contest, which started during 2002, is open to both professional and amateur songwriters.
Finalists and winners will be announced later this year. More details can be found at SongWritingCompetition.com.
