Forget David Hasselhoff; Germans love Lemmy Kilmister!

Wacken Open Air, the long-running metal festival emanating from Wacken, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, took place this past weekend, and Motörhead were often a festival mainstay throughout its history.  Since Lemmy’s passing, the festival has found ways to pay tribute to the metal icon, and this year was no exception.

Since Motörhead had just released their cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes,” Wacken played the cover’s video on the festival’s big screens and queued up the song’s lyrics.  What ensued was a mass sing-a-long that is nothing short of moving.

Wacken Open Air

No Wacken without Lemmy! Look what happened today: The whole Wacken crowd was singing the anthem for W:O:A 2018 - Official Motörhead's take on David Bowie's „Heroes". Enjoy!
