Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of the late Kurt Cobain, has been going through a very messy divorce since last summer, and it looks like things will continue to get messy when it comes to a guitar that belonged to the Nirvana frontman.
TMZ reports that Frances Bean has filed paperwork in an attempt to get a 1959 martin D-18E acoustic guitar back from ex-husband Isaiah Silva. According to Silva, the guitar, which Cobain played during Nirvana’s episode of MTV Unplugged, was given to him by Frances Bean as a gift. Frances Bean, however, says she would never give away a “priceless family heirloom.”
While everything is he-said-she-said at this point, we’d like to think the judge in charge of settling this issue would have enough sense to not award Silva anything Cobain-related. We doubt this is the last we’ll hear of this mess.
