A new Kid Rock album appears to be on the way.
During a media event Thursday (January 19) to announce his venue-opening concerts at Detroit's new Little Caesars Arena, Rock told us that he hopes to have his follow-up to 2015's First Kiss out in time for the September shows and told us a bit of what it's sounding like:
"That's always the tough question. Kinda going back to more 'Rock N Roll Jesus,' 'Devil Without a Cause.' I've got a lot of different things in there -- big rock songs, rootsy sounding stuff, some hardcore rap stuff, kind of all over the board...I do have a lot of songs. Not sure what I'm gonna put on the record or how I'm gonna release it yet...It's like the wild rest right now, so we'll see, man."
Rock will be playing sporadic dates throughout the year and isn't planning a full-scale tour until a new album is released. His four Detroit shows take place September 12, 13, 15 and 16.
