Behind McDonald’s Weird Fry Fork

McDonald’s has redefined how we look at cutlery. No longer will Americans have just knives, forks, and spoons in their drawers! The McDonald’s ‘frork’ has become an internet sensation after is appeared on social media this past week.

To prove that it is real, @mcdonalds sent me a frork. One frork.

In the video, featuring Anthony Sullivan, he states “Will the Frork change your life? Probably not. Will the Frork improve your Signature Crafted Recipes eating experience? I mean, sure maybe!”

Introducing The Frork™: McDonald's Latest Invention ft. Anthony Sullivan

McDONALD'S AND ANTHONY SULLIVAN HERE (yes, THAT Anthony Sullivan) for our new favorite utensil. It's like a fork, but with fries... a fry fork... a Frork™! It's the perfect(ish) utensil for picking up any premium toppings that may fall out of our new Signature Crafted Recipes burgers and chicken sandwiches.

The utensil has a red plastic base that has three holes on one end. Looking familiar to a shape of a fork, the three holes at the end of the utensil are made to hold three fries. The invention is made to promote McDonald’s new line of burgers.

According to ABC Action News, McDonald’s will be giving away “100,000 of them to people who buy the new burgers.” Recently, the fast food chain has received a decline in customer transaction. In order to get more people into the restaurant, they have been performing a series of gimmicks to get customers excited.

The burgers linked with this promotion are called the “Signature Crafted Recipes.” Some of the burgers in the collection include a Pico Guacamole burger, a Sweet BBQ Bacon burger as well as a Maple Bacon Dijon burger. The utensil that would be received with this purchase is described, by McDonald’s, as “edible, utilitarian and desperately innovated as well as superfluous.”

As well as the hilarious Youtube video, Sullivan made a series of appearances at McDonald's. Each person who attended the event received a ‘frork’ as well as the chance to get a photo with Sullivan.

Those who have managed to get their hands on the promotional product have stated that the utensil was hilarious to use. Tim Carman of the Washington Post wrote that he “didn’t know how much fun it would be playing with the frork.” Watching his Instagram videos, it looks like the creation would be perfect for those who are fans of dipping their fries!
