Ikea Throws Hilariously Appropriate Shade At Designer Bag Copycat

Ikea has always been a creative company - and their response to their latest copycat has us rolling with laughter. 

Fashion company Balenciaga created a tote bag that looks oddly similar to the FRAKATA, AKA those awesome tote bags from Ikea that you could probably turn into a raft during the great flood.

Their retail price, however, is much more than Ikea's bag, at a whopping $2,145, versus .99 cents.

 

According to Creative Review, as soon as Ikea got wind of the bag's existence, their agency, ACNE, went to work. Creative director Johan Holmgren told Creative Review:

“we contacted our client the day after the Balenciaga bag was launched and I said “we’ll have the creative work ready within two hours”. We then went to one of our fashion photographers Anders Kylberg and shot the bag in his studio, with that same feeling and lighting as the Balenciaga bag. That same day we sent the finished work to all markets.”
