Dave Grohl's mother Virginia Hanlon Grohl is sharing a bit more information about her upcoming book, From Cradle To Stage: Stories From The Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars.
The tome, due out April 16 with a forward by Dave Grohl, features conversations with the mothers of Amy Winehouse, Rush's Geddy Lee, Miranda Lambert, the Beastie Boys' Mike "D" Diamond and 14 others.
Hanlon Grohl tells Rolling Stone that she thinks readers will be surprised to learn that the moms behind the stars have some star power of their own:
"They all said, 'Oh, there's nothing interesting about me except for my son or daughter.' And then it turned out that wasn't true at all. Mike D's mom Hester Diamond is a very high-powered woman in the art world. When Mike wanted to be a Beastie kind of boy she was totally accepting."
Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters have been promoting From Cradle To Stage via social media, and he's been doing some interviews on behalf of the book as well.
