David Bowie Album To Be Released On Record Store Day

Announced on his official website, David Bowie’s legend will still live on throughout this record store day.

Two limited edition releases will be for sale on the RSD anniversary on April 22nd. The two in which fans can expect to see on shelves include “Cracked Actor (live in Los Angeles 1974) 3x LP set” and “Bowpromo single-sided album boxset featuring alternative mixes of Hunky Dory era tracks and exclusive prints in a prevention box.”

 

Cracked Actor will feature his Philly Dogs tour show as well as some of Alan Yenta’s BBC documentary of the same name. The concert is a “triple vinyl five-sided album” and portrays an etching of “the Diamond Dogs era Bowie logo.”

All tapes that fans will be listening have been mixed with longtime Bowie collaborator, Tony Visconti. To make the deal even better, the album will be featured with a variety of never-before-seen photos during his 1974 Universal Amphitheater show. All photos were shot by Terry O’Neill and Jamie Andrews.

Fun fact: this tour featured the beautiful voice of Luther Vandross! Fans can also expect to hear a variety of live tracks that have been rarely heard before.

 

The other album released, called Bowpromo, was pressed in 1971. Online his other albums, they only released and pressed small quantity. Most of the songs heard on this album can also be caught on his Hunky Dory album.

 

Just like the other album, not only will fans be receiving rare version of favorite tracks, but they will also get a series of extras. With the Bowpromo RSD album, customers will get exclusive Bowie prints as well as “new sleeve notes regarding the original promo”.

 

These two box sets are the perfect addition to any Bowie fan’s collection. No only will the recordings make you feel like you are living in the 70s, but the prints will make you reminisce on the rock legend.
