The all-star Chickenfoot will rise again, sort of, on March 10 with the release of Best + Live.
The two-disc set includes 10 songs from the two albums released by the group -- Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony -- along with the new "Divine Termination" and 14 live tracks, some taken from the home video "Get Your Buzz On," including covers of Deep Purple's "Highway Star," The Who's "My Generation" and "Bad Motor Scooter" from Hagar's old band Montrose.
In a statement announcing the release Hagar says that, "Listening to this collection of songs from the 'Foot brings back memories of some of the most fun I've ever had in a band. The chemistry between Chad, Joe, Mike and me is very special. It's almost like visual music -- you can see us having fun when you listen to these songs."
Chickenfoot formed during 2008 and released its debut album in 2009, with Chickenfoot III out in 2011. The group has been dormant since its last tour in 2012, when Kenny Aronoff sat in for Smith, who was busy with the Chili Peppers. There's been no word on any future plans for the group.
