TRAILER: Showtime’s ‘I’m Dying Up Here’

Remember HBO’s Vinyl?  It looks like Showtime is taking a crack at their own 1970’s period piece, except its focus will be on the legendary Los Angeles comedy club scene.

I’m Dying Up Here stars Melissa Leo as Goldie Herschlag, owner of the comedy club Goldie’s, and likely loosely based on Comedy Store owner Mitzi Shore (but not confirmed.)  Making up the cast of comedians is Ari Graynor, Michael Angarano, Clark Duke, Andrew Santino, Erik Griffin, RJ Cyler, Al Madrigal and Jake Lacy.

Also part of this series is Jim Carrey, who’s working behind the scenes as an Executive Producer.

I’m Dying Up Here is currently slated to premiere on Showtime on June 4th.
