Foo Fighters Give Approval Of New Mashup Of “The Pretender,” Rick James’ “Super Freak”

A lot of bands are hard-pressed to approve unauthorized mash-ups of their work. But Foo Fighters are getting behind a new DJ Cummerbund video creation called "Freaktender" that tacks Rick James' "Super Freak" onto the band's 2007 single "The Pretender," freely manipulating the speed of James' vocals.

The clip also randomly weaves in interview segments with James and snippets of the Beach Boys' "Help Me, Rhonda" and Led Zeppelin's "Stairway To Heaven."

The Foos shared the YouTube version of "Freaktender" on Twitter, with the simple message "F*** YES." Check it out yourself below.
