LIST: 59th Annual Grammy Nominations (Rock/Metal/Alternative)

So….the 59th Annual Grammy nominations have been announced, and call it a hunch, but a lot of rock fans will not be thrilled.

The five rock/metal/alternative categories listed below feature a lot of great picks, but there are certainly glaring omissions, and, frankly, there are artists nominated that will have fans thinking, “Really?!”  (Looking at you BeyonceJack White may have co-wrote/recorded “Don’t Hurt Yourself” with you, but even you have to admit that a rock nomination is a bit much.)

Per the Grammy guidelines, eligible recordings for the 59th Annual Grammys had to have been released “between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2016.”  If you’re looking for what was overlooked (and there was plenty), there’s your window.

A full nominee list can be viewed at Grammy.com.  The 59th Annual Grammys will air live Sunday, February 12 on CBS.
