Nine Inch Nails founder has become a space cadet. Literally.
Reznor and Atticus Ross -- his composing partner on the Academy Award-winning "The Social Network" score and the Grammy Award-winning "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" soundtrack -- have written an atmospheric new song called "Juno" for NASA's Jupiter satellite mission, which is slated to reach the planet's orbit on Monday (July 4).
NASA has posted a 30-second trailer for the song online, while the full eight-and-a-half minute track is available at iTunes.
A chilling soundscape of unspeakable beauty from the Oscar®-winning duo. Like their soundtrack work, "Juno" is deeply cinematic-from its feverish atmospherics to its chains of glassy melody to its haunting textures, which sound like the surface of some distant planet must feel.
Weezer has also contributed a track for the mission, the more upbeat and anthemic "I Love The USA."
